The Goal
God Loves us and wants a personal relationship with each of us.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." -John 3:16
"This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins." -1 John 4:10
"But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." -Romans 5:8
The Problem
We are sinful and, therefore, separated from God. We can neither experience God's love directly nor have a personal relationship with Him. The penalty is eternal separation from God in a place called Hell.
"There is no one righteous, not even one" -Romans 3:10
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" -Romans 3:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." -Romans 6:23
The Solution
Jesus paid the penalty for our sins by living a perfect life, dying on a cross as the ultimate sacrifice, and being raised from the dead. Because of this, an eternal relationship with God is now possible through faith in Jesus.
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -John 14:6
"When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners." -Romans 5:6
The Choice
We must accept God's solution by trusting that Jesus is the only way to Him, and that there's nothing we can do to earn our own way. Because of this, we commit our lives to honor Him.
By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. -Ephesians 2:8,9
[Christ speaking] "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him." -Revelation 3:20.
Why Wait?
If you believe this and are ready to make the choice, you can pray a prayer like this one:
"God, I understand that I'm a sinner and completely undeserving of a relationship with you. I truly believe that you sent Jesus to pay the penalty for my sin, and I accept your free gift of eternal life. The best I know how, I am committing my life to you. Thank you for saving me."
If you made the decision to commit your life to Christ or would like to talk with someone more about a relationship with God, we would love to hear from you.
